These Spanish Beans with Tomatoes and Onions are the perfect dish to celebrate the fall season, loaded with layers of flavors, easy and affordable to make and done in 30 minutes. I like to serve these beans as a tapas appetizer next to a crusty baguette, but you can also pour this over white rice for a complete meal.

The beans I used in this recipe are lima beans, also known as butter beans, very popular here in Spain. The way they sell them here in Spain is in bags already cooked and frozen, if you can´t find them like that in your area, you can use jarred lima beans or uncooked lima beans, just cook them by the package directions and you´re ready to go.

– The Secret Ingredients to these Spanish Beans –

Like I stated before, theseSpanish Beans with Tomatoes and Onions are very simple to make, so what makes this dish so special? Well, it´s all in the spices. I used a combination of Kiva sweet smoked paprika and Kiva hot smoked paprika, the combination of these two paprikas brings a sweet and smoky flavor along with a kick to this dish.
