Mrs. Ruby Jewel Williams, 75, of Pine Bluff, AR passed Thursday, April 5, 2018. She was born in Moscow, AR to the late Freddie and Earnestine (Long) Williams.

She leaves to cherish her memories to: three sons, Henry Bennett, Jr., Anthony Bennett and Mark Bennett all of Pine Bluff, AR; Three Daughters, Marcia Charles of Lacey, WA, Sherri Bennett-Freeman of Glen Allen, VA and Tonya Moore of Pine Bluff, AR; Two Brothers, Billy Danie and Reginald Danie both of Pine Bluff, AR; One Sister, Ruby Woods of Memphis, TN; 10 Grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren.

Home-Going Service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Smith Chapel M.B. Church by Pastor C.L. Williams. Interment will be in Belmont Cemetery in Moscow, AR by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, AR.

Visitation will be Friday, 5-7 p.m., at Brown Funeral Home. Her body will lie in-state 9:15 a.m., until service.

Homer Harris

Major Homer Edward “Ed” Harris, US Army, Retired, age 88, of Cabot, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 in Conway. He was born to the late William Hurvey and Sybil Belle Hayes Harris in Hattieville, Arkansas on March 31, 1930. He retired from the Army after twenty years of service and then went to work for Remington Arms as a system annalist before retiring after fifteen years. Ed was a member of First United Methodist Church of Cabot and a 32nd Degree Mason.

Ed is preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty six years, Dorothy “Dottie” Mae Harris and brother, Audrey Harris. He is survived by his sons, Grant Harris (Tammie), of Conway, and Gregg Harris of New Orleans, Louisiana; grandchildren, Heather and Clark Harris, of Conway; sister, Opal Green (Merv) of Ward; brothers, John Harris(Margie), of Benton and Jerrell Harris, of Ward.

Graveside service will be at 9:00 a.m., on Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock officiated by Reverend Todd Vick. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home, 700 North Second Street, Cabot, Arkansas (501-843-5816).

Curtis Holder

Curtis Holder, age 58, of White Hall, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018. He was born September 10, 1959, in Pine Bluff, to Junior Joe and Elizabeth Williams Holder. He graduated from White Hall High School in 1978.

Curtis was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Ben Pearson Lift Assembly Company in 1989.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles, watching tv and going on cruises. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Joe Edward (Stella) Holder, Daisy Williams Penick, Harold Penick and Harmon Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Donna, whom he married on June 7, 1987; sons, Robert (Vanessa) Holder of Sheridan, Christopher Holder of Sheridan; daughter, Ashten Holder of White Hall; sister, Lisa Mason of Pine Bluff; brother, Jeffery Holder of Pine Bluff; four grandchildren and four fur babies, Bruiser, Fancy, Gracie and Nella.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM, Friday, at Cranford’s. Services will be Saturday, April 14, 2018, 10:00 AM at Cranford Funeral Chapel with Reverend James Watson officiating. Burial will be private. Online condolences at cranfordfh.com

Lugene Boyd III

Lugene Boyd III 34, formerly of Pine Bluff, passed away March 5, 2018 in Milwaukee, Wis. He is survived by father Lugene Boyd Jr., grandparents Lugene Boyd Sr. and Yvonne Boyd of Pine Bluff, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 14th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Destiny Worship Center, 4700 W. 28th.

Odis Richmond, Sr.

Dr. Odis H. Richmond, Sr. 73, of Conway, formerly of Pine Bluff, Arkansas passed away on April 8th . The Musical Celebrations will be Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 12 noon at Holy Temple Cathedral COGIC in Little Rock. The body will lie in state from 10 - 11:30 am at the church. Joseph Appling

Joseph Franklin “Joe” Appling of Sheridan, Arkansas was born December 26, 1939 at Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the son of the late Joseph Earl and Zola Clement Appling. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan, and a former member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Watson Chapel. He was retired from the Arkansas Air National Guard after 20 years of service, and was also retired from Cotton Belt/Union Pacific Railroad. He enjoyed gardening, woodwork, turkey and deer hunting, and just spending time at his old homeplace, near Grapevine. Joe was also a board member of the Clement Cemetery Association, where generations of his family members are buried. His family remembers him as a loving and devoted husband, daddy, and Papaw, and most of all, a Christian man, who strived daily, to live his life serving The Lord.

Mr. Appling died Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock, at the age of 78. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Ann Thompson and a brother-in-law, Bob Minchew.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Bonnie Puckett Appling of Sheridan; daughter and son-in-law, Jenny Ellen Appling Ford and Ryan of Pine Bluff; grandsons, Cody Ford and fiance’ Hannah Pharr, and Kyle Joseph Ford; sisters, Florence Minchew of Little Rock and Betty Webb of Monticello; brother-in-law, Victor Thompson of Watson Chapel; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan, with Bro. Gary Copeland and Bro. Arlis East officiating. Following the funeral service at the chapel, the family will have a private committal at Clement Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clement Cemetery Association, 1816 Grant 192, Grapevine, Arkansas 72057.
