First of all, how the heck is this the second to last day of 2015?! What a crazy year it’s been…Trevor quit his job, came on full time with Show Me the Yummy, and we moved halfway across the country.

2015? It’s been nice, but I’m ready to welcome in the New Year! This year we have many plans for working our butts off, traveling to see friends (we’re even attending our first food blogging retreat, eek!), and oh yeah, eating way too many Food Should Taste Good chips with this ultra tasty, ultra easy, healthy french onion dip.

What better way to celebrate the last few days of 2015 than with chips AND dip?

Let me first tell you about thechips.

They tastegood.

‘Nough said. 😉

But for real, Food Should Taste Good chips are made from high quality ingredients. They’re also gluten free, cholesterol free, have zero grams of trans fats, and are certified Kosher! Many of their chips are even certified vegan. Any time I can eat chips without all the guilt I’m#winning.

While that’s all great👆, these chips, most importantly, taste amazing. They have SO many flavors to choose from (you can’t go wrong with any of them – White Cheddar? I ♡ you) and I love that you can actually pronounceall the ingredients listed on the bag. 😉

Healthy French Onion Dip Recipe- w/ Greek Yogurt (4)Today we’re using their Sweet Potato, Blue Corn, and Multigrain Tortilla Chips. While I love them all, I have a special place in my heart for the Sweet Potato Tortilla Chips (ahem, I may have eaten one two bags on my own and I’m not mad about it at all 🙂 ).

These chips are allSO good on their own, but also so freakin’ tasty withourhealthy french onion dip!

Now, let me tell you something, this recipe for healthy french onion dip has HALF the calories of your standard french onion dip.

But I promise you won’t be missing the “real” stuff, because I still sneak in juuuust a touch of mayo to keep that flavor we all love in a french onion dip.

Let me break it down for you.

This healthy french onion dip is

#1: Healthy…er. Like I said, it has HALF the calories of a standard FOD (french onion dip 😉 ), but I still use some mayo, so it’s not 10000% healthy, ok? 😉

#2: Ridiculously easy.

#3: Ridiculously yummy. This dip is best friends with chips.

So like I said, this healthy french onion dip is healthier. Olive oil, onion, garlic, spices, non fat plain greek yogurt, and olive oil basedmayo are the only ingredients! Because FSTG focuses so much on a short, real ingredient list, I wanted our dip to match that!

Ready to hear how ridiculously easy this is?

Healthy French Onion Dip Recipe- w/ Greek Yogurt (5)Heat oil in a saute pan, add in onions and salt and cook until perfectlygolden andcaramelized, add in garlic for a quick second and set aside.

Now whisk together the greek yogurt, olive oil mayo, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt.

Lastly, stir in those cooled onions and let it refrigerate until chilled!

THAT’S IT.

I mean. Come ON! Because it’s so easy, I’d highly recommend this as a last minute New Year’s Eve idea! Plus, I’m guessing you already have the ingredients on hand. I, for one, always have onions – because I go grocery shopping and never remember if I have any at home, so I end up with 1,000 onions – greek yogurt, garlic, and of course, the spices.

Most importantly, this healthy french onion dip tastes ah-mazing. Especially if it has a chance to really build its flavor in the fridge for a few hours or overnight. It’s sweet, creamy, onion-y, with just a little kick from the cayenne.

I promise you, you’ll love this just as much as the full fat stuff, BUT you get to eat more of it without feeling guilty. 🙂 #winning number two
